About the Area Alcudia Beach is a beautiful blue flag, fine white sand beach that stretches from Port d'Alcudia along a 'golden mile' of hotel-backed coastline. The resort of Port d'Alcudia has long been popular with holidaymakers coming to Majorca, the main reason for that being this beach. Playa de Alcudia is the largest beach of all the Balearic islands thanks to its 7 kilometres of sand. Nowadays, it boasts a wide range of facilities from beach bars and restaurants to watersports, public toilets, showers, car parks, sunbeds, parasols and even WiFi connection. The beach can be divided into two sections. The first half, from Port d'Alcudia to Ciudad Blanca, is where most of the facilities and services are located. Further up the Bay of Alcudia, as you head towards Playa de Muro, it is easier to find quieter spots. The beach can get busy in the summer months as the purpose built resort behind the beach fills up with holidaymakers. Lifeguards are on duty during the busier periods. No pets are allowed on the beach. Water Safety & Clarity This beach's popularity with families is clearly because of the safe shallow waters that make it ideal for children to play in. The clear turquoise sea is a delight to swim in (you may have to walk some distance for deeper water), or to watch from the comfort of your sun lounger. Beach Quality You have 7 km of white sand beach to choose from, and the average depth of the beach is a staggering 80 metres, unusual for Mallorca! The beach has wooden walkways at the back of the beach to allow for easier access for the disabled and for pushchairs. Watersports A number of boat trips start from here, these range from gentle half-day cruises to full-on diving expeditions. There are also companies renting pedalos, banana boats, ringos and other fun activities on the beach, as well as diving centres nearby. About the island of Mallorca Mallorca (Catalan: [məˈʎɔɾkə], Spanish: [maˈʎoɾka]) or Majorca (English: /məˈjɔːrkə, -ˈdʒɔːr-/ mə-YOR-kə, -JOR-)[2][3] is the largest island in the Balearic islands, which are part of Spain and located in the Mediterranean. The local language, as on the rest of the Balearic islands, is Catalan, which is co-official with Spanish. The capital of the island, Palma, is also the capital of the autonomous community of the Balearic islands. The Balearic islands have been an autonomous region of Spain since 1983.[4] There are two small islands off the coast of Mallorca: Cabrera (southeast of Palma) and Dragonera (west of Palma). The anthem of Mallorca is "La Balanguera". Like the other Balearic islands of Menorca, ibiza and Formentera, the island is an extremely popular holiday destination, particularly for tourists from Germany and the United Kingdom. The international airport, Palma de Mallorca Airport, is one of the busiest in Spain; it was used by 28.0 million passengers in 2017, increasing every year since 2012.[5] The name derives from Classical Latin insula maior, "larger island". Later, in Medieval Latin, this became Maiorica, "the larger one", in comparison to Menorca, "the smaller one". Contact Euro Resales Ltd for more information or to book and inspection
